Meet the Team – Alex Jaquet
Every business has a story, and ours begins with Alex Jaquet, founder of Jaquet Health & Safety. Alex’s path into occupational health and rehabilitation has been anything but straightforward — and that’s exactly what makes it so unique.
Alex graduated from Central Queensland University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). It was an exciting time, but with the arrival of COVID-19, physiotherapy clinics across the country stopped hiring. Rather than sit idle, Alex took a leap into something completely different — beginning an apprenticeship in carpentry. It was here, on the jobsite, that his passion for occupational health first took root. Day after day, he witnessed workers pushing through pain, carrying injuries, and struggling with the demands of physical labour. It opened his eyes to the real need for preventative care, injury management, and workplace health solutions that go beyond the clinic walls.
In 2021, Alex was offered the lead physiotherapist position at a small medical practice in a coal mining town in the Central Highlands. This role brought him even closer to the challenges faced by workers in heavy industry, and further fuelled his drive to specialise in occupational health. Determined to expand his expertise, he went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma of Ergonomics, Safety and Health through La Trobe University, undertaken virtually while balancing his clinical role.
Beyond his professional journey, Alex has always had a strong connection to the local community. Growing up in Central Queensland, and a proud graduate of the prestigious St Brendan’s College in Yeppoon, his mission has always been simple: to support local people and industries by providing practical, evidence-based solutions that improve both safety and quality of life.
Founding this business was about more than offering services — it was about creating a trusted space where employers and workers can turn for genuine support, prevention-focused care, and expert guidance. For Alex, occupational health isn’t just a career — it’s a way to give back to the communities that shaped him.
